Lakshadweep

Kannur

Kannur or Cannanore is one of the important sea coast towns of Kerala. It was the capital of the north Kothagiri rajas for many centuries. Kannur once a premier port of ancient Kerala, has been a favourite destination of foreign travellers from Europe, China and Arab countries. In his book of travels Marco Polo recounts his visit to the area circa 1250 A.D and referred Cannanore as a great Emporia of spice trade.

Thrissur

Thrissur lies on the west end of Palakkad gap through the low pass between the Nilgiris and the Palani hills. It is the beautiful cultural capital of Kerala and a land of colourful festivals. Thrissur, an abbreviation of 'Tiru-Siva-Perur' or the town with the name of Lord Siva, is appropriately named. The central and the most important feature of this city is the Vadakkunath Kshetram (temple) where the reigning deity is Lord Siva.

Thekkady

Thekkady is located in the Iddukki district of South Indian state, Kerala. Thekkady is situated towards the lower end of the state and close to the borders of the adjacent state, Tamil Nadu. The place is about 60 kms from the central Idukki and exists as a wonderful tourist place featuring hill stations, plantations and wildlife sanctuaries.

Kumarakom

Kumarakom lies 14 kms from Kottayam, a cluster of tiny islands on the Vembanad Lake. The salubrious climate, lush greenery and the all-pervading presence of water everywhere has a mesmerizing effect. Kumarakom is a part of Kuttanad, the 'granary of Kerala' in Alleppey, which is described as the 'Venice of the East'. Kollam

Kollam or Quilon is a small and beautiful town situated on the Ashtamudi Lake, some 71 kms from Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala. The town lies in the lower quarters, that is towards the south of the state. Kollam shares its eastern borders with the state of Tamil Nadu, the northern side is bounded by Pathanamthitta, southern by Trivandrum and towards the west lies the stretched out Lakshwadeep Sea.
